Al-Shabab Claims Killing Soldiers In Separate Mogadishu Attacks

Al-Shabaab claimed it killed at least four Somali soldiers, including a senior Intelligence officer in two separate attacks in Mogadishu, the country’s capital and a nearby suburb.

The group said in a statement its fighters carried out a daring raid against security forces manning a checkpoint in the city’s Wadajir district on Monday night, killing 3 soldiers.

Separately, armed militants shot dead a senior Somali Intelligence official in Sinka-Dheer area, located on the outskirts of Mogadishu, according to Al-Shabab statement.

The government has not yet commented on the attacks which were the latest in such raids against the security force members and the civil servants in the capital in the past few months.
