Al-Shabaab Claims Deputy Defense Minister Survived Bomb Attack

Al-Shabaab said Friday it has carried out a daring bomb attack in Mogadishu on Thursday, targeting the deputy minister of defence, Abdullahi Olad Rooble.

The blast which was used an explosive device occurred outside the defence ministry while the minister’s convoy has passed-by, according to the eyewitnesses.

However, Rooble has escaped unhurt from the landmine that has rocked the city amid increased security measures and changes to the top security chiefs by President Farmajo.

Meanwhile, the deputy defence minister has not yet commented on the attempt on his life and the claims of Al-Shabaab.
