The top leaders of Somalia’s Sufi sect, Ahlu Sunna have finally surrendered themselves to the Federal Government of Somalia a day after a deadly battle in Dhusamareb town.

Mo’alim Mohamud, the founder of the group and his right-hand man, Sheikh Mohamed Shakir Ali Hassan both are reportedly in custody with their headquarters retaken by SNA.

The latest reports say that SNA troops are now in full control of the city, which has been hosting the newly elected Galmudug president Qoor-Qoor since his election last month.

At least 10 people were reported to have died and dozens were wounded in Friday’s clashes between government troops and Ahu Sunna fighters in Dhusamareb and Guri’el towns.
