Puntland state police have detained a TV journalist Omar Mohamed Somane in Garowe, On Wednesday evening.
The reporter who works for a London based private TV has been arrested after filling a report on the dispute between the Puntland Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Education of the central Government over the unified national exams.
A media colleague has confirmed the arrest of the journalist to Radio Shabelle station in Mogadishu. Somane is now held at Garowe central police division.
Puntland state is yet to comment on the matter.
Somali journalists working in various parts of the troubled nation face frequent arrests, intimidation, and killing due to their work to inform the public about events and issues on the ground and how they affect their lives.
