A Foreign Aid Worker Kidnapped In Mogadishu
A witness says an aid worker working with the ICRC has been abducted at the organization’s compound in Mogadishu on Wednesday night at around 8 p.m. local time.
Police and intelligence agents are reported to have sealed off the compound near KM5 junction in Wadajir district, close to Shamo Hotel following the reports of the abduction.
The latest reports from the scene indicate that a female German aid worker was kidnapped, though there no any confirmation from the Somali security agencies and the ICRC.
The incident comes barely 3 months after a Ugandan chef working with UNICEF was killed by a former security guard in the organization’s office the same area.
